Right Ventricle
The ventricles are the two lower chambers of the heart. Ventricular contraction follows atrial contraction, and is stronger and longer than the latter. They are separated by a thick muscular wall called the interventricular septum. Blood is expelled to the pulmonary artery via the right ventricle. The right ventricle is separated from the right atrium by the tricuspid valve. The right ventricle receives venous blood from the right atrium and pumps it to the lungs via the pulmonary artery.
